Jarid met his wife Kelly, a Spanish teacher at O'Gorman High School, through friends. They moved to Sioux Falls four years ago, which he likes because it's more diverse than the small town life he's used to—and because he has easy access to Menards and the auto parts stores. Jarid spends most of his free time with his Kelly and their two boys, Christopher and Connor, but he still finds time to fish and work on cars.
