New saving controls and warnings

In February we identified some issues with Firefox that were interfering with the functionality of SpEd Forms and other web based programs. At the time we released as much information as we knew to help school districts work around these issues:

The issues with Firefox created ongoing difficulties using SpEd Forms in school districts running Mac OS because Firefox was the recommended browser for SpEd Forms. After identifying issues with Firefox, we changed the recommended Mac OS browser from Firefox to Opera and immediately started working on programming changes to alleviate the difficulties with Firefox. These programming changes are now complete. The result is better functionality for Firefox users, and better information for all.

- Forms now cannot be saved unless they are fully loaded:
The primary issue with Firefox has been that half-loaded pages (due to a memory leak in Firefox) resulted in half-saved data in SpEd Forms. To overcome this issue, we have added new programming to SpEd Forms which disables the save button until the page is fully loaded. While the page is loading a "Please wait while the form is loaded..." message may briefly appear. If this form is not fully loaded the save button will remain disabled and the teacher will not be able to save the page.

- New messages and warnings about "Exclusive Rights":
Exclusive rights prevent teachers from saving over each other's work. They expire in one hour or when the teacher navigates away from the page. The following new messages have been added to ensure teachers are fully aware of their exclusive rights:
a. When a person navigates to a form a message appears in the navigation bar telling them when their exclusive rights expire.
b. After 55 minutes the message is change to a new yellow highlighted message telling the teacher their exclusive rights are about to expire and they should save to retain them.
c. After one hour, if the teacher has still not saved, the yellow highlighted message will be changed to a new message warning the teacher their exclusive rights to the form have expired.
