MN January Updates

On Saturday, January 6th, 2024, an update will be posted to all Minnesota SpEd Forms sites. The update will include the changes listed below:


1. Cycle (2 week) has been added to the available frequency dropdown options on Services pages.

2. A message has been added to the IEP validation page to show that ESY is checked, but no service is selected.

1. Added the criteria and procedures statement from the Child and family outcomes page of the IFSP to the IFSP Periodic review form.

1. An option for parents to enter the MHCP number when electronically signing the Consent to share data form has been added.

2. New columns have been added to the 271 import for birthdate, start and end eligibility dates.

3. The Create/edit claim transmission will allow claims up to the student’s 22nd birthday to be sent.

4. Version 1 of the student’s MA Forms is no longer available.  If you are still using version 1, this does not require that you do anything. Providers still using v1 accessing student MA Forms will automatically be directed to the v2 pages. This change only applies to MA Forms.


1. Added the Clinical Assessment of Pragmatics (CAPs) and the Language Use Inventory (LUI) to the list of SpEd Tests found under “communication.”

1. Validation was added to ensure that the MARSS end date is after the start date on the Enrollment form.

2. The student’s phone number has been added to the Special Education data sheet.

4. Spanish, Hmong and Somali translation options have been added for the Notice of Agreement that a 3 Year Reevaluation is Not Needed form.

1. New “Bulk enrollment records closer” and “bulk enrollment records remover” tools have been created and added under Super admin reports. These tools will allow the closing and removal of enrollment records that came in without ending dates or were imported in error.

1. A clear button has been added to the v2 Notice of a Team meeting form.

2. IEP Services page 1 and 2 quick links have been added to the SpEd Dashboard.

3. The attendance entry page and IEP Additional Information page have been converted to v2.

1. The admin educators screen has been updated to show the educator’s last sign-in date.

2. Those with building administrator accounts can now have multiple buildings assigned. An extended permission, “Allow multiple buildings,” has been added and will allow you to select those buildings on the educator’s setup page. This option is only available in version 2.0.
