Dear MA Providers and Coordinators,
As shared by the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS), the transition to CPT and HCPCS codes for IEP and IFSP services takes effect for service dates on or after October 1st, 2025. You can read their latest memo here:
Our system update to support the new CPT codes will occur on Saturday, October 4th, 2025. Until then, CPT codes will not be available for selection. If providers choose to document for services provided on October 1st–3rd, we recommend creating a new MA log dated October 1st, 2025, or later.
Because these are new service codes, SpEd Forms will add all CPT codes as options with this update to ensure providers can begin documenting immediately afterward. MA Coordinators will then have the ability to deactivate any codes that are not needed. Additionally, the current ICD-10 codes will be copied so they will be available for both pre-CPT and post-CPT code billing.
Following the update, we will offer training opportunities to help providers navigate these changes. We appreciate your patience during this transition and will continue to keep you informed as DHS implements these changes.
